כָּתַף

כָּתַף(cmp. כָּתַת) to join; denom. כָּתֵף.(Midr. Till. to Ps. 2:3 כתופין, ed. Bub. כתיפין, read: כפותין, v. כָּפַת. Pi. כִּיתֵּף (denom. of כָּתֵף) to carry; to shoulder. Y.Shebi.VIII, 38b מְכַתְּפֵי פירות carriers of fruits (in the Sabbatical year). Y.Nidd.II, beg.49d היתה מְכַתֶּפֶת יינותוכ׳ carried vessels with wine for libations; (Bab. ib. 6b גפה, v. גָּפַף).B.
